Bronzers--review and comparison

Hey everyone!! So my first post is about bronzers. I have included swatches and descriptions of several different bronzers so you can have an idea of what each is like.

These include:
  •  Hoola by Benefit Cosmetics
  •  Laguna by NARS
  •  Chocolate Soleil in medium/deep by Too Faced
  •  Vitality Glow Anti-Aging Matte Bronzer by It Cosmetics
  •  Live, Love, Laugh Vitality Face Disc with Bronzer by It Cosmetics
  •  Bronzer shade #1 by MUA
  •  Bikini Contest by Wet n Wild
  •  TANtalizer Baked Bronzer by Lorac

Okay, let's start off with Hoola by Benefit. I love this bronzer!!! It provides a naturally looking matte finish that probably works well for for many different skin tones.  I have a light complexion and this is one of my favorites for all over bronzing and contouring. It blends very easily. The packaging is very cute and it contains a small bronzing brush.
Sorry about the shadows in this picture.

Laguna by NARS is one that I purchased as a blush/bronzer duo. It came with a lovey pink blush called Orgasm.  This one is a little darker than Hoola, but still works well for me for contouring. It appears to have a little bit of a golden brown with a slight shimmer finish. It was also the most expensive item in the list at $42 for the blush/bronzer duo.

Chocolate Soleil by Too Faced is the newest bronzer in my makeup collection.  I love the fact that it smells like chocolate!!  This particular shade only works for contouring for me because it is too dark for my skin tone.  I got this smaller sized product in the Too Faced Beauty Editor Darlings Set from Sephora. Hopefully, I will get the lighter one soon and I will let you know how it works out.

Vitality Glow Anti-Aging Matte Bronzer by It Cosmetics is one of my favorites for contouring.  As the name states, it is a matte bronzer and claims to contain anti-aging properties. It goes on smoothly and blends easily for a very natural look.

Live, Love, Laugh Vitality Face Disc Bronzer by It Cosmetics.  This bronzer was included in the Live, Love, Laugh Vitality Face Disc with a blush and highlighter. It is a little darker than the other one by It Cosmetics, but is also a great bronzer.

See photo of both It Cosmetic bronzers for a side-by-side comparison. I purchased them both on QVC and each came with a very large brush. I believe you can also purchase them on the It Cosmetics web site (no blush included).

Bronzer shade #1 by MUA was developed in the United Kingdom.  It has a lot of shimmer. According to the many reviews I've read, it works best as an all over bronzer for most people.  However, this product contains too much orange for my taste. If the return shipping wasn't so much to the United Kingdom, I would probably would have returned it!

Bikini Contest (740)
Color Icon Bronzer by Wet
Wild has an SPF of 15 and therefore claims to help prevent sunburn.  This particular bronzer appears too orange for my skin tone. Also, this product in not completely matte as it contains a small amount of shimmer. Given that this is a drug store item, one thing it has going for it is the price point. It is a the least expensive bronzer in this list.

TANtalizer Baked Bronzer by Lorac contains a lot of shimmer!  The package states that it is a face/body bronzing powder.  Lorac claims that this product is baked on terre cotta. The packaging for this bronzer is unique and it contains a small brush. Due to the amount of sheen in this product, I prefer to use this as a highlighter instead of bronzer.

Another bronzer that I am wanting to try that is not listed is the Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder.  I have heard good things about it and will be ordering it soon! :)
